Great case w/o the bulk
I purchased this case because I wanted a leather case that didn't add a lot of bulk and was inexpensive. That is exactly what I got. The 80GB Zune fits snuggly in the case. A strap over the top ensures that the Zune will not slip out and it also protects the screen. The case itself is as about as thin as it can get and still be protective. Added diameter is minimal.

Overall great case, good quality and an excellent price!

For 120 GB people
The case is nice but extremely tight. I had to return it because I wanted the flexibility of taking it in and out of the case. But it was a really tight fit and I had a difficult time both putting it in and pulling it out (to the point where I thought I was going to scratch my Zune trying to get it out of the case). I don't have a 80GB so I don't know what the fit is like though I assume it's around the same size. I also didn't like the clip, which was the point of me getting it, the metal was too stiff and I couldn't really get it on my belt easily... which defeated the point.

Looked for Everything: this is the Best.
I went everywhere, tried many options and I found that this one fit the best, looked the greatest and offered all the connections to the zune without taking the device out of the case protector. I would buy again!

Nice case, one big flaw
Incipio Z-127 Leather Kickstand Case for Zune 80 GB (Black)
This is the first case I've purchased for my 80GB Zune.
Pros:
1. Nice looking black leather case.
2. Plastic insert protects the display.
3. Kickstand flap is a nice option for viewing the Zune video display without having to hold the device.
4. Easy access to all the Zune controls and inputs.
5. Two leather strips at the bottom of the case to hold the Zune in, if you are holding the case straight up . These strips also allow access to Zune input.

Big Con: This case has an open slot for sliding the Zune into. Although the case fits the Zune well, it's not quite snug enough. I was holding my case/Zune the other day with what I thought was a decent grip, but the Zune flung out of this opening. The top of my Zune is now scratched from hitting the floor (someone hand me a tissue). This case would have been perfect if Incipio had added an elastic strip or some sort of catch on this opening as a safety to keep the Zune from flinging out.

Not much protection
This case is well built, looks good, kinda bulky. When you think of it as protection it is impractical. The Zune slides in from the top, nothing keeps it inside. Several times as I am just carrying it around the house I tilt my hand the wrong way and SLAM my 250 dollar Zune hits the floor. I would love to give this a perfect score, but since I bought it for protection it fails miserably. All they had to do was add a strap on the top to hold the Zune in and this would be a perfect product. Do not buy this if you do anything active while carrying your Zune it WILL hit the deck.

Not bad
I liked the idea of having a "kickstand" so I ordered this case. Like a few reviewers, my zune doesn't fit quite snug enough. It's not a big problem, but keeps it from 5 stars. It works like you'd expect. A tri-fold design to allow protection as well a stand for your zune. It would have been an awesome product if there was some kind pocket or velcro stap to secure some headphones with it; like a carry-all.

It protects, it's a stand, quality of the stitching isn't bad. I'm still giving it 4 stars because it does what it claims and it's functional. Just a few tweaks and this would be a 5 easy.

Perfect Fit...
NOTE THAT THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE VERTICAL FLIP CASE (HAVE NOT TRIED THIS HORIZONTAL ONE BUT WANTED TO SHARE MY COMMENTS)... Fits the Zune like a glove. It has a plastic cover for the screen so no additional screen protectors are necessary. Exterior is black leather and has a velvet interior to protect the shiny finish of the PVP. The only two ports (headphones and charging) are accessible with the case on. Thus, no need to remove the device from the case for charging even with the optional home base accessory. Control buttons on the faceplate are also conveniently accessible. The closing mechanism is double; magnetic and a clip (for added security). Comes with a belt clip that attaches with a removable screw. Those that carry the device on their purses or briefcases need not use the clip and removable anchor screw. I have it always clipped on my belt and very convenient. The flap has a covered area for your business cards or a picture of your family, your kids or even of your favorite pet. If you want to use the Zune as a video player, turn the flap backwards (on the vertical model) and this allows you to have the player on a horizontal position to watch videos & movies. Great casing for Zune, very few problems
This is a great case for my Zune 80GB. If you're looking for something that a whole lot cheaper than Microsoft's case, then this would be good. It has a nifty little screen protector and also holes for your headphones and sync cable. Also there are magnets that hold the case shut (the magnets won't harm your Zune). They didn't work too well for a bit, but I eventually bent the cover enough so that it stayed on. The only other thing that I don't like is the positioning of the bottom casing. There is a strip of leather that makes it inconvenient to push the down button on the touch pad. Luckily you can just swipe your finger down instead. The other buttons are easy to push though. It's only the down button that has a bit of accessibility problems.

Recommend the Incipio Leather Kickstand Case Instead
This case is okay, but its not very tight, so when you have the cover open the zune tends to slip out. Also, the plastic screen protector makes the screen impossible to see in the sun due to glare.

Lastly, if you use your zune for watching videos, i recommend the Incipio Leather Kickstand Case instead (also available on amazon), since it holds itself up at an angle so you can watch video while eating, etc

A very versatile case.
If you're looking for a case to hold your Zune this one is a great choice. I normally don't like cases because they add too much bulk to a device but this one is quite compact while still offering good protection. The protection is so good that it's all but impossible to press any buttons through the case, making the hold switch obsolete. There is also quite a lot of padding on the flip cover which gives even more protection for the Zune's glass screen. The belt clip makes it easy to carry and can be removed if you prefer to put it in your pocket. Because of the case's design it makes for a great holster allowing the Zune to be easily removed. I find this feature particularly handy when entering and exiting my vehicle and plugging my Zune into the stereo.

My only complaint about the case is about the design of the flip cover. It is much better suited for headphones with a right-angle plug as the case hits the cord on those with a straight plug. This makes opening and closing the case a little difficult. Other than that this is a nice case and great value for money.

Great Product
Let me start off by saying that this is an excellent case. It's tough and fits great, as advertized. I do have a couple small gripes though. First the included screen protector is pretty worthless. It's one of those thin, sticker thingees. You can improvise a better one though by trimming a piece of the packaging down to size- it's this long, clear, and tabbed plastic piece. Second I wish the scroll wheel was exposed as the covering hinders the functionality a bit, you have to click instead of just dragging your finger accross it (petty I know). Third, as with the other Speck product that I purchased, the belt clip is set a little high up on the case of my tastes- I would prefer one that is more or less centered on the player. Again these are pretty small gripes, and should not dissuade anyone from purchasing this quality product.

Toughskin Case
When I got this case, I was a bit concerned by the material. The rubber is soft and very pliable but fits the Zune like a second skin. When the Zune is inserted, the case grabs and holds almost as though it will never come back out. Taking it back out is a slight challenge, but that's the point of having the case, you don't want your electronics investment to fall to the pavement accidentally. The case comes with a screen protector that is similar to those you would buy to protect a touch screen, and a belt clip that would be fine if I wore skinny belts like the rest of the world. All considered, this case far exceeded my expectation. I would buy the same case for anything else Speck makes them for.

A quality protector that will last a long time
A solid tight protective fit, with a nice clip for your belt or your shirt. You have to make a simple modification though. Get out the exacto knife and cut out the rubber cover over the thumb pad. With the rubber inplace, the Zune can operate backwards or just be obstinate or difficult, which does get annoying. Cut it out and your Zune is again, your go anywhere music companion.

Great case, low price
I bought this case largely because it also covers the Zune's screen, which a lot of cases don't. The case snaps on very easily and allows for access to all the buttons and ports. I'm very happy with this case and would recommend it to anyone, especially given its low price!

Perfect case for the Zune w/ one minor flaw
First off the only flaw about this case is that its collects dust like crazy but you can wipe it off.

A good case for the price. The Zune fits snugly in the case while the flip top keeps it protected. A snap (not really shown in the picture)makes sure it stays shut. You still have access to all the buttons and plug-ins, so there's really no need to take it out. The belt clip lets you wear it wherever you go.
This case was just what I was looking for. Very satisfied.

Great Zune Protection
This case is perfect for complete protection of my Zune 8G. The Zune fits snugly inside the case which seems very sturdy. Has a clear vinyl cover for the screen on the inside....an important feature. The flip up leather front flap has a padded feel to it that gives added protection. Access to the bottom ports is good. Very satisfied; would highly recommend.

You won't be disappointed!!
This is a great case at a great price for the Zune. The leather and stitching look very well made and appear to be quite durable. The belt clip is not removable but it is relatively flat and does not cause the case to wobble while resting on a desk/table. Overall, a great value and highly recommended!

Best Zune 80GB/120GB case on the market
This case is the best Zune 80/120GB case on the market. I had another case and it was clear and it got all scratched up, and the way the case was made it always got dust/dirt under the case which made me constantly have to take it off and clean it. Also the way the case was made you could only use the Zune headphones which was a bit annoying. It abstructed larger plugs from being plugged in.

This case fresh out of box is stunning. It immediately catches your eye. It's metal so it's very durable, and let me just say that your Zune will never be better protected. It slides in very snug and is virtually impossible for it to accidentally fall out of the case. The screen protector is very glossy and shiny and does not limit the screen's resolution in any way.

I am very pleased with this case. It's the best on the market and totally worth the $$. This is what needs to be sold in Best Buy instead of their other cases.

Solid, but not perfect
I don't think any case can really protect a player completely, but this one does a pretty good job, especially at protecting the screen. I am getting one for my second zune. It does affect the image quality somewhat, but who really watches video on a screen that size anyway, and you can open the case. So for me this is only an issue when trying to find a song in glare (and I'm not sure that's all the cases's fault). For a really defensive case, check out aquapac.

I think it really is metal, not plastic, but with some kind a softening coating.

Enjoying it!
Nice product. I was so confused as to what to buy. I looked everywhere and nothing really seemed to be what I wanted. I finally found this one and said, "for the price, I'll try it out." Shipping was outrageous - be warned - just $2.95 less than the cost of the case! But it fits nice and snug without being too tight, I can get at all the controls, it's got a great belt clip and a lanyard as well (both features I wanted and didn't realize it had) but the screen got scratched almost right away. I did drop it once and even though the door popped open (hmmm...the latch could be better I guess) the player was totally undamaged. I'm pretty happy with it all in all. I'd recommend it but be warned you will probably have to replace it sooner than later depending on how much more scratched the screen gets.

I love this case. It is cool looking and unique, made with real leather and quality stitching.

The price is awesome. I've avoided other cases made by other companies because their leather cases are so expensive. And the cheap cases from no-name companies feel cheap too. This case hits a sweet spot for price and quality. AND IT LOOKS SO AWESOME.

My only complaint is that flipping it open gets blocked by my headphone plug that goes straight in, not at a right angle. Minor annoyance, fixed with an adapter for my headphones. I would totally put up with this because it looks so freakin' cool.

dammaged because of the case
i bought the case and at first the looks kept me happy but after a few days i began to hate it. to see the screen flipping up the headphone blocks it and will drive you nuts every time u look at it. also because of it a keep it open and just pick it up but the zune slides right in and out nothing gripping it or holding it in and ive already dropped it by picking up the case and having the zune slide right out onto the floor.

Sweet and Simple
Great product. Does exactly what it's supposed to. Covers every inch of my red Zune 80. I dropped it once and it protected it, didn't even scratch the leather! I haven't removed it from the case since I've gotten it because I never needed to, the headphone jack and the charging port are open for easy access. It did have a strong leather smell when I first received it but after a couple days it went away. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Great, but not perfect
Just wanted to say - Love the case, seems solid and I dont fear for the safety of my zune in my bag. Only drawback was the problem I had attaching the belt clip. The screw to the head was too large to go into the back ring connector, and I had to cut it down to make it fit. Its fine now, and its not going anywhere, but it wasnt perfect.

An ok case
I found a great griffin case for my ipod, and was hoping to get something as good for my zune. I wanted something clear that would protect the screen. This does that. However, it scratches really easily. It also doesn't fit on tightly. But my major gripe with it is that I can't turn the lock switch on and off with this case on. It was poorly designed so noone can fit their finger down in there to flip the switch. I have to carry a small thumb tack with me so that I can lock and unlock it. Kinda disappointing.

Fits like a glove; great buy!
This case fits the Zune like a glove. It has a plastic cover for the screen so no additional screen protectors are necessary. Exterior is black leather and has a velvet interior to protect the shiny finish of the PVP. The only two ports (headphones and charging) are accessible with the case on. Thus, no need to remove the device from the case for charging even with the optional home base accessory. Control buttons on the faceplate are also conveniently accessible. The closing mechanism is double; magnetic and a clip (for added security). Comes with a belt clip that attaches with a removable screw. Those that carry the device on their purses or briefcases need not use the clip and removable anchor screw. I have it always clipped on my belt and very convenient. The flap has a covered area for your business cards or a picture of your family, your kids or even of your favorite pet. If you want to use the Zune as a video player, turn the flap backwards (on the vertical model) and this allows you to have the player on a horizontal position to watch videos & movies. I just wish that someone made a case that included a pocket for the headphones! The case looks great and for less than $30.00, is a great buy. BoxWave's shipping was fast. My Boxwave Review
After a long search and looking all over amazon.com and the web I stumbled upon this Zune 80GB/120GB Case, and boy am I glad I did. There were so many cases that would have been absolutely great except for two glaring flaws, 1: They did not cover the top of the Zune and 2: They did not have a screen cover. I will say that the screen cover on this case is plastic so it will be prone to scratch some, having said that however, the vertical flip cover covers the screen protector which limits exposure, which will limit scratches. The belt clip consists of a plastic clip and a screw that firmly attaches to the case. I believe that this case is also made with high quality leather. Another selling point for me was the fact that this case has a magnetic/snap closure, this is a big plus for me because my work requires my getting in and out of a car and places of business several times a day. This case is worth every penny!

Exactly what I wanted.
A great case, seems very well made, and fits my Zune 120 perfectly. Also, a feature that I really like is the belt clip. Every other case I have seen(both for the Zune, or other gadgets) forces you to carry the belt clip or at least the knob to attach to the belt clip even if you do not want to use it. However, this case allows you to choose to either have a smooth clean looking case to just slip in the pocket, or, you put the screw back in the hole, and you can attach it to your belt/whatever you attach it to. Over all, very happy that I paid the extra for the higher end case.

Very Nice Case
The case has a nice design and the Zune fits perfectly inside. The clear LCD protector does not distort your video or images. There's only one issue that you should be aware of and that is if you have the docking station for your Zune, you will have to remove the Zune from the case before you can dock it. I don't find that to be an issue but I thought I bring that to your attention. Other than that, you can attach the USB cable to the Zune while it is inside the case without a problem.

One of two best Zune 30 cases, it seems
From researching sites like this, it looked like this case and the Speck Toughskin are the two best cases for the Zune 30. I bought this one, but haven't seen the Speck.

Likes:
- Can remove easily from the case. This is important if you use the Zune in a dock (including a speaker dock like the Altec Lansing), or if you use the Belkin Tunepower (an additional battery pack).
- Nice looking colors (black, grey, tan lining) that help disguise my brown Zune's unattractive color.
- Built-in screen protector. Haven't noticed it's there, so I guess it's not visible in use.
- Open sync/charge port. With wireless sync, I'm no longer attaching the Zune to the computer. Instead, I charge by attaching the sync cord to an A/C adaptor that has a USB output. (I've found that lithium ion batteries, which are supposed to only have about a two-year lifespan, are lasting more than four years in my lightly-charged devices, so separating charging from syncing has given me the ability to limit my Zune charge cycles.) If you're worried about lint from your pocket getting into the port, then this open port is not an advantage.

Dislikes:
- The clip is far from foolproof. It's too easy when bending for your thigh to push the large Zune off your belt. Happened two times during the first hour I had it on my belt. If you're just going for a walk, for example, this might not be an issue.
- The thick leather around the exposed click wheel means that when intending to click ff or rew, you sometimes instead accidentally activate the buttons to the far left (go back) or far right (play/pause). I've adjusted mostly, getting my whole finger into the recessed click wheel area before clicking with the edge of my finger or fingernail.

The reviews of the Speck indicate that belt clip is secure. They also indicate it's more difficult to pull your Zune in and out of the Speck case.

BEST ZUNE CASE!
of course it is the only case i have ever tried, but having tried it, i don't think i will ever get another one. it shows the screen wonderfully and all the buttons are reachable. so... good job belkin!

Save yourself the heart ache!!
This is such a pathetic excuse for a case. The price reeled me in and I tried to fit my zune into it and I had to wrestle with it to be able to stuff half of my player in. After trying a little too hard, I realized it was absolutely futile. And if it ever got in, then there would've been no way out. I contacted the sellers and made it too obviously clear that the case is way too tight, and they send me another one. Got it in three-quarters of the way after a hard fight. I just gave up and shipped it back. So all that came out of this was spending shipping money. I really suggest you put in a few more bucks and get a quality case.

Decent cover
This is a decent cover for the Zune. However, the picture above is accurate in that the cover is only snug on the bottom half. The top part that goes around the screen is quite noticeably loose.

The case does its job. Just wish it came with a screen protector like the one I bought for my older 80 GB Zune.
